3D design in construction projects

We’ve discussed in detail the role of design in anaerobic digestion plant construction – what this design supports, what it helps to achieve and its overall importance. But what about the role of 3D design in construction projects?

The role of 3D design in construction projects

3D design is used at various stages of the construction process in order to achieve different aspects of the project; at the beginning, for example, 3D design and modelling enables teams to mock up potential designs, estimate costs and identify any potential flaws, risks or challenges within existing 2D/architectural designs.

Then, during construction, 3D designs are used to ensure that projects stay both on track and on time.

What’s more, 3D designs also allow you to overlay linework to compare your site surface to the projected surface, to ensure the site looks as it should when compared to the original plan.

3D design can also have an important role after the construction phase, as the 3D models can be archived for use later and revisited any time the construction project in question requires modification, retrofitting, updating or even extending, depending on future needs.

Our design team

Our dedicated design team offers extensive skills and experience in 3D design and Autocad for construction projects of various sizes, budgets and uses; working closely with our clients and other members of our growing team of experts to create informed, technically sound and robust designs.

Our design team comprises –

William Crewe-Turrell, Lead Design Engineer: as a design engineer for AMZCO Construction, William has been collaborating with clients, industry specialists and the team to provide thorough and accurate architectural 3D models in various CAD software. Designing AD biogas facilities across the globe to be used in all manners of the construction process such as detailed building design to large scale planning documents.

Josh Mold, Design Engineer: with experience in water treatment, waste and commercial water sector, Josh joined the AMZCO Construction team in November of 2022 as an Engineer and Designer for renewable energy projects around the globe; working with our clients to create effective and safe solutions.
