Plant Operator (Anaerobic Digestion Plant)

AMZCO Construction are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to cover a new and innovative anaerobic digestion plant near Reading, Berkshire. 

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of anaerobic digestion and be available for an immediate start to gain a good understanding of the technology used on site.  

This role is offered on a rota basis and the successful candidate will assist the Plant Manager.

Duties of the Plant Operator include:

  • Implement and conduct maintenance to a pre-planned schedule.  
  • Conduct corrective maintenance in the event of plant/equipment failures, as instructed.
  • Source and identify compatible spares to ensure efficacy of the plant.
  • Ensure the timely inspection/testing of all plant and machinery subject to statutory inspection.
  • Ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in a manner which meets recognised industry and HSE guidance.
  • Provide a timely response, out of hours, to any abnormal or emergency event.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and qualifications: 

  • Industry recognised engineering qualification.  
  • First Aid qualified or a willingness to attain a first aid qualification.  

Appreciation of confined space working, working at height and working in potentially explosive atmospheres would be beneficial.

Please note that the nature of the role requires that on occasions you may have to work beyond normal working hours and or respond during silent hours to effect repairs.

This is an onsite and in-person position and will be best suited to an individual based in or near the Reading area, with access to own transport.
