AMZCO Construction are currently looking for an Energy Plant Maintenance Engineer to cover a new Anaerobic Digestion plant near Reading, Berkshire.

Background: The plant employs a natural process, whereby, plant materials (Biomass) is received and processed from the local agricultural community. The bio-mass is broken down by micro-organisms in the absence of air, producing a methane rich gas(biogas), reducing fossil fuel usage and the reduction of greenhouse gases. The Biogas is then exported to the grid.

Role: Primary responsibility for conducting a programme of preventive and corrective maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure that business continuity is maintained and processes/products meet expected parameters/standards.

Duties:

  • Own and maintain the schedule of maintenance for equipment and assets on the site.
  • Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance for equipment and assets on the site.
  • Source and identify and maintain stock of commonly used compatible spares to ensure efficacy of the plant.
  • Ensure the timely inspection/testing of all plant and machinery subject to statutory inspection e.g. LOLER, Pressure Systems.
  • Undertake “operator” duties to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the plant and associated processes.
  • Required to carry out biological and recording of process parameters.
  • Ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in a manner which meets recognised industry and HSE guidance.
  • Provide a timely response, out of hours, to any abnormal or emergency event.
  • To work in a harmonious manner with the neighbouring Farm staff, adjacent business owners and local residents.

Skills and Qualification: Industry recognised engineering qualification.

First Aid qualified or a willingness to attain a first aid qualification. Appreciation of Confined Space working, working at height and working in potentially explosive atmospheres would be beneficial. Training needs as identified in the Amzco Skills Plan are expected to be obtained within 3 years.

Special Requirements: The natureof the rolerequires that on occasions you may have to work beyond normal working hours and or respond during silent hours to effect repairs. The nature of the role necessitates a high level of autonomy on the part of the postholder.

Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
